After a storming packed-to-the-rafters pre-Christmas gig, it's time for me to return to stalking the streets of London.
I have been nominated by the infamous Halfmoon in Putney for the Red Stripe Music Awards and the first round of showcase gigs is on 14th February - yes, yes, I know that's Valentine's Day - even more excuse to come on down and show the lurve.
As usual, there is a theme, which appopriately is wear something red. It's doesn't have to be an all-over tomato suit, just a splash of something red so I know you care (plus it fits in with Red Stripe, geddit?). There will also be another opportunity to bring your offerings for the shoe shrine, though quite frankly, anyone would thing people in North Yorkshire didn't LIKE *pause for effect* SHOES! This I cannot believe. The ShoeShoe Club still managed to get a few new members, but the turn out was poor. I think they were all shy!
For those of you who don't know yet what on earth the ShoeShoe Club is ... this is the celebration of all things shoes. Those shoes that defy description and can merely be called - art. Shoes that are not even meant to be walked in, just worn and admired. For more information you can peruse http://www.shoeshoeclub.com. If you want to join, just bring a picture of your favourite shoes OR the shoes you would most like the object of your desire to wear. Write your name and email address on the back and simply bring it to the front of the stage to the shoe shrine. Don't be shy!
